Jay McKague

Role: owner, project lead
Started: in 1989; took over ownership in 2007
Born: in Minnesota
Family: married Michele in 1990, 2 children and 5 grandchildren
Hobbies: spending time with family, caring for our property, helping the community
Hero: Karl.
Life Philosophy: Love God. Love your family. Work hard.
Past Business Experience: Co-owned the Rocket House Coffee shop with Michele, and my brother and sister-in-law through 2014.

Michele McKague

Role: bookkeeper, payroll, customer service, administrator
Started: in 2004
Born: Portland native
Family: daughter of the founder, wife to Jay, mother to Matt and Madeline, grandmother of 5
Hobbies: grandkids and family, couponing and budgeting, community and church involvement
Hero: My dad, Karl. He is honest, kind and a diligent worker. Jay is just like him!!
Greatest Life Lesson: You cannot change anything by worrying. I’ve tried.
Past Business Experience: Co-owned and ran a preschool in Boring from 2004 through 2017.

Todd Liebelt

Role: project manager, sales
Started: 2003
Born: Portland native
Family: married since 2005, father and grandfather
Hobbies: fishing, hunting, camping, farming, family
Hero: Karl, founder of KLM. He always takes the high road, no matter what.

Matt McKague

Role: carpenter
Started: in 2015
Born: Portland native
Family: husband and father of three
Hobbies: woodworking, spending time with friends, reading, being involved in our community
Greatest Life Lesson: Admit your mistakes.
Favorite Part of the Job: Working with my dad and being part of a company that values hard work and integrity.

Michael Olson

Role: carpenter
Started: in 2014
Born: Portland native
Family: father to a son and a daughter
Hobbies: running, fishing, swimming, working on my boat, football (I’m a 49ers fan!)
Education: AAOT degree, Mt Hood Community College, Sandy High School
Life Philosophy: Don’t sweat the small stuff.

KARL MCDERMED

Role: founder of KLM, now retired
Started: founded the company in 1967
Born: in Kansas
Family: 3 kids, wife Jan and a handful of grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Anthony Ybanez

Role: Carpenter
Started: in 2019
Born: in Ormoc City, Philippines
Family: wife and two beautiful children
Hobbies: snowboarding, fishing, cooking, hiking, and camping Heros: Karl and Jay Motto: Do your duty first before happiness. Fun Fact: I grew up in a small town called Villaba Leyte, Philippines. I moved to the US in 1999 to help my family and to have a better life.

Ethan Manzano

Role: Carpenter Started: in 2025 Born: USA and raised in Sandy, OR Family: I have a loving Mama and Papa with two amazing younger and older sisters. Hobbies: Rock climbing or any outdoor activities, listening to all types of music and hanging out with friends and loved ones. Favorite Scripture: Romans 3:23-24

Lori Olsen

Role: Administrative Assistant Started: in 2025 Born: Portland native Famiy: Husband and three grown children. Hobbies: Worshipping God and Intercession. Spending time with my family. Heros: Jesus and Michele. She is the Kindest most giving person I know. She inspires me to be a better follower of Jesus. Life Philosophy: Give it to God and do not take it back! You can trust Him!
